I don't know if Stu would exactly approve of my decision to publish this here on Laundry List, but I found the thoughts he had to share with me important enough to share with all of you. Cheers. [by the way, EOD is Explosive Ordnance Disposal- the U.S. Army bomb squad]
. . . some of you were there when this all started, over four years ago now. others I've meet in the last year and I have no doubt I will pass many more of equal strengths as each of you. but i wanted you all to know that i graduated from EOD school on the 3 of February and am back home in MN getting ready to report to Korea.
Know it or not, each of you have contributed, in one way or another, to what i am and what i hope one day to be. I know I've forgotten some, maybe many, so if you happen to pass another that might remember this simple soldier, let them know there is another EOD tech in this world. and with all the time I'm given, will do my best to make this world a little better than it was when given to me. at least that's the plan anyway. thank you all, and i look forward to passing each of your paths in the future
So... To all those who know why they are here
To all those who came before us
and to all those who will surely follow, I have learned one truth in this world,
We are born free, may the fates be kind enough to show us all the way to live free, and to die happy, in love and of old age, many years from now
never stop learning, never stop living, never stop loving, and never stop laughing
in all ways EOD, and forever an Engineer. . .
forever and all ways,
Stuey
